Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973) is considered by many as the greatest and most creative painter and sculptor of the Twentieth Century. He was also recognized as the periods most notable printmaker.
This HAND SIGNED original etching of Famille de Saltimbanques, which means circus family, was created on 30 March, 1933. Picasso’s etchings during this period are considered the pinnacle of his Vollard Series.
Picasso astonished all other printmakers again and again by quickly mastering new techniques of printmaking and obtaining results previously deemed impossible.
The Original Etching is printed in black ink on Montval laid paper with the “Vollard” watermark. It is HAND SIGNED in pencil on the lower right by Picasso and inscribed with the date in the lower right in the plate (in reverse).
The print is in EXCELLENT condition, in a beautiful, warm Silver Gold Leaf Frame, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Christopher Clark Fine Art in San Francisco, USA, which is a major, well established Picasso gallery.
