Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973) is considered by many as the greatest and most creative painter and sculptor of the Twentieth Century. He was also recognized as the periods most notable printmaker.
This HAND SIGNED lithograph of Faunes et al Centauresse was created in 1947. The year 1945 marked the beginning of his great lithographic work in the atelier of Fernand Mourlot. His growing mastery of the medium and inventive genius soon enabled him to venture into domains new to lithography, achieving bold and striking effects as Faunes et al Centauresse illustrates.
Picasso astonished all other printmakers again and again by mastering new techniques of printmaking and obtaining results previously deemed impossible.
This lithograph is printed in black ink on woven paper bearing the Arches script watermark. It is
